Deacon Michael was born in Louisville, KY and moved to Colorado at 15 years old. He attended Columbine HS, and then CU Boulder. After college, Deacon rediscovered his Catholic Faith and got involved with youth ministry. During work on a Search retreat, he met his wife, Mary Lynn, and they have been married for more than three decades. Together, they have three children: Hannah (Nate and Owen), Madison (Christian and Cecelia), and Landon.
When the kids were young, Deacon and Mary Lynn both got caught up in the fast-paced world and allowed their busyness to push their faith into the background for a time. When their eldest child went through Confirmation as a freshman, Christ lit a light in them again and they reprioritized the family busyness to have God as the center of their activities. Both became very involved again in youth ministry and continued to deepen their Catholic Faith. After walking The Camino de Santiago together, Deacon Michael felt a tug to do more for the Church. He resisted this at first, but then entered Diaconate formation and has never looked back. Ordained in 2023, he and his wife feel very blessed to be assigned to their home parish at Lourdes. He hopes to serve the parish well in humility to do God’s will. Deacon Michael currently works for the Archdiocese of Denver as Director or Pastoral Outreach, overseeing Jail and Prison ministry, and other outreach programs.”
